Christmas Cake

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE PASTRY:
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 250 ml of the whole yogurt
  • 120 g butter
  • 125 g of sugar
  • 200 g of butter
  • 150 g cornstarch
  • bag of yeast
  • a pinch of salt
  • vanilla

FOR THE FILLING:

  • 200 g of cream
  • 300 g milk chocolate

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Grease an oven mold (approx. 24 cm in diameter). Cover the bottom and sides with baking paper.
  2. Separate the yolks from the whites.
  3. In a bowl, beat the butter at room temperature with half the sugar.
  4. Then add 2 egg yolks and mix very well. Add vanilla and yogurt.
  5. Sift the yeast and add it to the mixture.
  6. In another bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the other two egg whites until a fluffy white texture. Gradually add the remaining sugar and beat until firm peaks.
  7. With a large metal spoon, add half the egg whites to the butter mixture. Repeat the process with the rest of the egg whites.
  8. Place the dough in the mold and bake at 180 ° C for about 45-50 min. After this time, check with a stick that the dough is cooked.
  9. Stuffed with milk chocolate ganache: Put the cream in a casserole and cook at low temperature. When it starts to boil, remove the pan from the heat, add the chocolate and let it melt. The mixture should be smooth and consistent. Let it cool.
  10.  With a stick of chocolate paste, draw the shape of small spruce with a star on top.
  11.  Cover the star with golden food coloring powder and leave it in the oven for an hour to harden.
  12.  Cut the cake in half. With the help of a spatula, spread the inside with the milk chocolate ganache. Next, place the Ferrero Rocher in two rows along the ends of the cake.
  13.  To finish, introduce a stick in the middle of the tree and the star to fix it to the cake.
